Two additional Pakistani cities have been included in the list of places barred from obtaining visit visas in the UAE. This measure was taken by UAE authorities due to instances of travel agents in the country assisting citizens in acquiring visit visas under the guise of employment, with subsequent deportations of those individuals. Initially, the UAE’s immigration authorities added 12 Pakistani cities to the list of prohibited visit visa destinations. Subsequently, this list was expanded to include 22 cities, and now two more cities have been included.

The introduction of a Schengen-style visa allows tourists to explore the six-member Gulf bloc, which comprises the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, Oman, and Kuwait. A broader visa ban has been imposed by the UAE on citizens of 13 predominantly Muslim states, including Algeria, Kenya, Iraq, Lebanon, Pakistan, and Tunisia. According to Pakistan’s foreign ministry, the UAE has ceased processing new visas for citizens of these countries.
In case of having a visa from one of the other five emirates or lacking an ID number, individuals are required to contact the General Directorate of Residence and Foreigner Affairs to address their travel ban status in the UAE. The Pakistan Online Visa System outlines prohibited areas, including cantonments falling within or outside defined boundaries and isolated cantonments merging with civil areas. However, certain exceptions are made for roads, market areas, civil areas, parks, hotels, and airports.
Addressing recent speculations, the UAE clarified on Monday that it is not withholding visas from Pakistani citizens belonging to specific cities, dismissing such reports as fake news.
